Hey, Apple: Remember the Newton before releasing iPhone 2/27/2007
What does Apple’s iPhone have in common with the failed Apple Newton of more than a decade ago? Nothing. Yet. But I was reminded of the Newton lately and how, despite its current hot streak, Apple doesn’t have an unblemished record when it comes to introducing innovative new devices. It seems that a common theme in dialogue regarding the iPhone has become, “I’ll wait for version 2, thank you very much.” The sentiment makes sense in some ways; after all, the first-gen model lacks key goodness (3G radio, open platform, removeable battery), not to mention the fact that companies frequently fail to get the first version…..

iPhoners, beware: 1. iPhone is being serviced by AT&T (Cingular, but Cingular & ATT are merged, Cingular to disappear) 2. AT&T is suspected of giving unfettered access to the NSA 3.
